Stacey Smith serves as a Principal in Jenkins Hill Consulting, LLC and focuses on lobbying and government relations for clients on a wide range of issues. She has extensive Capitol Hill experience and has built deep relationships with members and staff on both sides of the political aisle. Stacey brings a wealth of experience to the firm and her diverse, bipartisan background bolsters Jenkins Hill clients' ability to succeed in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Jenkins Hill, Stacey served as a Senior Legislative Assistant to Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL). She managed a variety of issue areas for the Senator including tax, budget, labor, transportation and homeland security. In addition, she served as the Senator's liaison to the Senate Finance Committee, Commerce Committee, Budget Committee and the Environment and Public Works Committee. She also worked closely with Congressional decision makers and members of the Florida business community to help develop and implement legislative initiatives that assisted companies based in the state.
Stacey began her tenure with Senator Nelson, serving for three years as the Regional Director for Senator Nelson's Fort Myers, Florida office. In that post, Stacey opened, staffed and organized the eight county region for the Senator. On a daily basis, Stacey acted as the Senator's public liaison to the community, building close relationships with local elected officials, business leaders and community influentials in Southwest Florida. Stacey served as the Senator's eyes and ears in the region and made sure the Senator was thoroughly briefed on important local issues under federal jurisdiction.
Stacey began her political career working in the personal office of U.S. Senator Connie Mack (R-FL). Under Chairman Mack's leadership, she served as a Professional Staff Member and Economist for the U.S. Congressional Joint Economic Committee. During her tenure at the Committee, she focused on monetary policy and macroeconomic analysis. In addition, Stacey served as a Financial Analyst at the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Economic Policy and Foreign Investment Studies. In this role, Stacey reviewed, analyzed and evaluated complex financial reports submitted by investment banks, securities dealers and other financial institutions.
Stacey graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida with dual degrees in Finance and Economics. |
